Easy Sweet & Sour Stir-Fry

Eskort Chicken Viennas, diced

15 ml

sesame oil


small onion, sliced into half moons

1 clove

garlic, finely chopped

2.5 cm

fresh ginger, finely chopped


red pepper, deseeded and sliced


green pepper, deseeded and sliced

225 g can

pineapple pieces, drained (reserve juices for sauce)

100 ml


50 ml

rice wine vinegar

45 ml

tomato sauce

30 ml

soy sauce

15 ml

corn starch (Maizena)

250 g

Basmati rice


fresh coriander, to garnish


  • Place honey, rice wine vinegar, tomato sauce and soy sauce in a small saucepan and bring to a boil.

  • Make a slurry by combining the corn starch with a little water, then add slurry to honey mixture in pot.

  • Stir continuously and simmer until sauce has thickened, remove from heat and set aside.

  • Heat sesame oil in a wok (or large frying pan) over a high heat.

  • Add chicken Viennas and onion and stir-fry until golden.

  • Add garlic, ginger, peppers, and pineapple pieces and stir-fry for 3 - 4 minutes more.

  • Add your sweet and sour sauce and mix well, fry for another 3 - 4 minutes, then remove from heat and serve warm with basmati rice.
