Take me back to the good old days! This #JustDelicious Rustic Ham & Potato Bake does exactly that - a little nostalgia with a lotta delicious!

250 g

Eskort Mini Picnic Ham, thinly sliced

30 ml

Dijon mustard


medium potatoes, sliced (keep peels on)


onions, sliced

15 ml





ground black pepper

250 ml

chicken stock

200 ml


10 ml


60 g

white cheddar cheese, grated


fresh parsley, chopped, to garnish


  • Preheat oven to 180°C.

  • Heat butter in a frying pan and fry onion rings until just softened, remove from heat and set aside.

  • Place half the sliced potatoes in an even layer in the bottom of a shallow baking or casserole dish, season lightly with salt and pepper.

  • Cover potatoes with half of the onion, then a layer of mini picnic ham.

  • Spread a thin layer of mustard on top of the ham, then cover with remaining onion.

  • Layer the other half of the potato slices on top of everything in an even layer and season with salt and pepper.

  • Pour over the chicken stock and place in oven to bake for 35 - 40 minutes.

  • Mix cream and Maizena together to form a slurry, make sure there are no lumps.

  • Remove potatoes from oven, pour cream over and top with grated cheddar cheese.

  • Return to oven and bake until cheese has melted, and top is golden brown (15 - 20 minutes).

  • Remove from oven, sprinkle with parsley and serve immediately.
