Crispy Braai Bacon Pork Noodles

  • Eskort braai bacon 
  • 2 eggs 
  • 1 c flour 
  • Salt and pepper to taste 
  • 300g egg noodles 
  • 1 C dried mushrooms 
  • 1 red onion chopped 
  • 1 C leek chopped 
  • 2 garlic cloves chopped 
  • 1 red chilli chopped 
  • 2 star anise cloves crushed 
  • 2 cinnamon sticks 
  • 5 cloves crushed 
  • 2 C hot water 
  • Oil for deep frying
  • Sesame oil for cooking


  • Heat the oil in a pot over a moderate heat. 
  • Cut the bacon braai stukkies into quarters. 
  • Dip them into the flour add to the beaten egg and then add it back to the flour to form a good coating. 
  • Fry the bacon pieces until golden and crispy.
  • Heat a wok over a moderate and add the sesame oil. 
  • Fry the mushrooms, red onion, leek, garlic, chili, and spices for about 5min. 
  • Add the hot water and allow to simmer for 5 min. 
  • Add your noodles to your broth and remove it from the heat.


  • Serve the crispy pork on the noodles with the broth and serve with fresh green veggies. 
  • We used sugar snaps and chopped spring onions.
