Ham and Cheese Pull Apart Bread

  • 1kg Mini Picnic ham, thinly sliced
  • 3 C Cake flour
  • 1 T Salt
  • 1 Packet instant dry yeast
  • 1 ½ C water
  • 2 C Cheddar cheese, sliced
  • 2 C mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • ½ C Cream cheese
  • ¼ C Basil pesto
  • ¼ C Parmesan cheese slices


  • Preheat the oven to 190°
  • Add the flour and salt to a large mixing.
  • Combine the water and yeast in a jug and allow to rest for 5 min.
  • Add the water to the flour and knead until a smooth dough forms.
  • Set the dough aside to proof until it is doubled in size.
  • Roll the pastry out and layer it with the ham and cheese.
  • Cut the dough into squares and layer them on top of each other.
  • Pack the layers up right in a Bundt pan and bake for 20 minutes.


  • Spread the cream cheese on the loaf and add the pesto.
  • Garnish with parmesan shavings and sprinkle with Eskort’s braai spice.
