Oats And Rye Bread With A Home-made Bacon Spread
Bacon spread ingredients:
- 200g Eskort minced Bacon
- 1 C cream cheese
Oat bread ingredients:
- 2C cake flour
- 1 C flat rolled outs
- 2 C rye bread
- ½ C pumpkin seed
- 2 C buttermilk
- 4 t baking powder
- 1 t salt
- 1 C water
- 3 eggs
Method
- Preheat the oven 180°C.
- Add the dry ingredients to a mixer or food processor.
- Whisk the water, buttermilk, and eggs together.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix well.
- Scoop the batter into a greased bread tin and bake for 45 min.
- Fry the bacon in a frying pan over a moderate heat for 8min.
- Allow the bacon to cool down.
- Combine the bacon and the cream cheese in a small bowl and mix well.
Serve
- Serve the oats bread with the bacon spread.
- Pair these snacks with your favourite healthy veggies to make for a snack party.
