Russian Sputnik
Ingredients
- Eskort 1Kg Footlong Cheese Russians
- 500g self-rising flour
- 1 ½ C water
- 1 t salt
- 1 C grated Cheddar cheese
- Oil for deep frying
Method
- Add the flour, salt and water into a large bowl and knead until a smooth dough forms.
- Heat oil in a medium sized pot, over moderate heat.
- Roll the dough out until it is 1cm thick.
- Cut the dough into strips big enough to cover the Russians.
- Top each slice of dough with cheese and add the Russians.
- Wrap the Russians with the dough making sure there are no gaps.
- Fry the Russians in the oil until the dough is golden brown.
To serve
- Serve the Sputnik’s while they are still hot with your favourite dipping sauces.
