Fakeaway Burgers
Ingredients
- 8 Eskort Monkeygland bacon burger patties (to make 4 double burgers)
- 2 handfuls shredded iceberg lettuce
- 6 sliced gherkins
- 8 slices processed cheddar cheese
- 4 hamburger buns, halved and toasted
- Oven chips, to serve (optional)
Sause
- 60ml mayonnaise
- 15ml Tabasco
- 15ml tomato sauce
- 15ml BBQ sauce
Method
- Prepare the sauce: In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, Tabasco, tomato sauce, and BBQ sauce. Stir well to mix.
- Cook the patties: Cook the 8 Eskort Monkeygland bacon burger patties in a pan or braai, ensuring to cook them thoroughly.
- Toast the buns: Toast the 4 hamburger buns until golden.
- Assemble the burgers: Spread the sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Layer with shredded iceberg lettuce, followed by a patty, a slice of cheddar cheese, another patty and cheese and sliced gherkins.
- Top with the other half of the bun.
- Serve: Serve immediately with oven chips on the side if desired.
