Asian Inspired Burger

  • 6 Eskort Sweet BBQ Loin Steaks
  • ¼ C oyster sauce
  • 3 C fine shredded slaw mix 
  • 6 pineapple rings 
  • ¼ C mayo 
  • 3 T sweet chili sauce
  • 6 steamed buns 
  • 3 potatoes mashed 
  • 3 T potato starch /corn starch 
  • 2 t onion powder 
  • Salt and pepper 
  • Oil for deep frying


  • Steam the buns according to the packet instructions. 
  • Cook the steaks for 3 min per side in a frying pan over a high heat. 
  • Remove the steaks from pan and add the pineapple rings. 
  • Baste the rings with the soya sauce and fry them for 1 min per side. 
  • Combine the slaw mix with the mayo and sweet chili.

For the fries

  • Heat cooking oil over a moderate heat. 
  • Add the mashed potato, starch, onion powder and salt to a bowl and mix well. 
  • Transfer the mixture to a piping bag with a plain round nozzle and pipe the mixture in short 10cm portions into the hot oil and allow to fry for 3-5min or until golden.


  • Assemble the burger by adding the slaw pineapple and the steaks. 
  • Serve with the fries and some more sweet chilli sauce.
