Serves

Ingredients
200 g Eskort Double Smoked Ham
8 slices rye or low GI bread
2 packs Instant Noodles
12 slices Emmental cheese
250 ml (1 C) grated cheddar
60 ml (¼ C) sweet chilli sauce
60 ml (¼ C) butter
Allergens:
This recipe contains wheat (gluten) and dairy (lactose).
Substitutions:
Rye Bread (gluten): Use gluten-free bread.
Instant Noodles (gluten): Use gluten-free ramen noodles or shirataki noodles.
Butter (lactose): Use ghee (clarified butter) or solidified coconut oil.
Method
Cook the instant noodles as per pack instructions.
Drain the noodles, add to a bowl and dress evenly with sweet chilli sauce.
Place a slice of Emmental cheese on each slice of bread.
Add a serving of instant noodles to four slices of bread and top with cheddar cheese, a slice of ham and another slice of Emmental cheese.
Close with the remaining slices of bread.
Butter the outsides of the sandwiches and braai until golden brown.
Tips:
If you’re not keen to braai, these broodjies are just as delicious toasted in a hot pan.
Not into rye? Any low GI bread makes the perfect substitute for this flavourful toastie.
Serve
Serve the braai broodjies with a side of sweet chilli sauce for dipping.
